Denia on the way to the “Smart City”

The City Council of Denia, Alicante invests in the future and has commissioned the company Aalto Consultores for 18,000 euros to develop a concept for the «Smart City of Denia». The goal is for Denia to become an innovative, easily accessible and digital city.

Among other things, a system of sensors that detect free parking spaces, self-regulating traffic lights, a water leak detection system, the use of wastewater for street cleaning, charging stations for electric cars and more have been planned.

Denia also wants to position itself as a "smart travel destination" for tourists.
